Introduction

I started my journey in software engineering as a DOST-JLSS scholar at USTP-CDO, where I earned my BS in Information Technology. That scholarship didn't just put me through school. It shaped how I think about technology as a tool for real, institutional impact.

Now in my final semester of a Master of Information Technology, again under a same government scholarship provider (DOST-STRAND) at the same university, I'm completing a thesis on a governance-aware hybrid blockchain framework ─ built on Hyperledger Fabric and InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). It's the kind of work that sits at the intersection of distributed systems, institutional trust, and public infrastructure.

Outside of research, I build full-stack web applications from PWAs and booking systems to e-commerce platforms and data mining tools ─ using React, TypeScript, Python, Django REST Framework, Node.js and Supabase.

I'm drawn to problems that actually have impact in businesses and most importantly, end users. I find it more satisfying to ship something that makes a real difference than to build something technically impressive that nobody uses.

When I take on a project, I start with the problem, not the solution. I ask what needs to be built, who it's for, and what the budget allows. When working on a client, I keep stakeholders in the loop early and often becuase the best technical decision means nothing if the people it affects didn't see it coming. Then I choose tools that fit the job. I build incrementally, ship working software, and iterate from there.

When I am in an open or freelancing environment, I strive to deliver high-quality work that meets the needs of my clients and users. I'm also an advocate for open source technology tools that prioritize transparency, security, community and long-term sustainability. I believe that open source software can help democratize access to technology and empower individuals and organizations to build better solutions.

For my long term career, I want to build software that outlasts me. Systems embedded in institutions, classrooms, and local communities. I want to elevate the floor for how techology is being percieved here in the Philippines. I'm moving toward that through constant research and developing. And ultimately, finding a sponsor or the right client work that can compound that goal over time.
